Piranhas (but not really)

We've just been moving heavy boulders every day for our food and lodging. That is, Tait and I have done so voluntarily because we wanted to make a terraced fountain up at the top of the garden we weeded. We had to bring huge rocks from the side of the mountain down the road, because we thought they'd look nice on the terraces. And, boy, they do! My back hurts now, though. We worked 8 hours today when we only had to work 4 per day (no weekends). So we'll probably be taking it rather easy tomorrow.

The island is beautiful. There is a castle on top, near to the two harbours. I haven't actually been up there yet, because I've been so tired of moving after the work every day so far. There is also a ruined church down by the North harbour. It is where the first Christian Holy Communion was held in Ireland, according to the locals.

We swam in the ocean the other day because the gulf stream flows across this side of Ireland, and it's supposed to be warmer. It was really cold! What maid it worse was that there were many different kinds of seaweed that I was not familiar with and I had no idea if there was even a possibility of sharks or piranhas or something. So it all maid for a rather uncomfortable experience, though I stayed in for a few minutes despite. I've learned since then that it's actually quite safe, and some of the locals here swim on a regular basis.
